History Of Cervical Neck Surgery. Having Degenerative Disc Disease. Severe Nerve Pain From Neck To Foot And Numbness

I had cervical neck surgery in 2010, I have degenerative disc disease in neck and back, spinal stenosis, myelopathy etc. there are bone spurs with mild to moderate impingement on my spinal cord, at c6 & c7 vertebrae was removed and a titanium plate & 4 screws were implanted, The area did not heal properly and there is a loose screw. I have continuous severe nerve pain radiating down complete left side from neck to foot, tingling & numbness. Have been told there is nothing that can be done to correct the neck surgery. The pain is severe at times I am 70 yrs. old.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I have studied your case.
Due to compression of this nerve root there is tingling numbness in your arm and pain associated with it.

Do MRI spine to see nerve compression.
For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started.

If nerve compression is severe then revision surgical decompression with cage and graft will give permanent relief.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care
