Hip turned reddish and swollen after a total hip replacement surgery. No pain. Reddish circles on the hip. What are they?
I had a total hip replacement in Jan 2012. a month ago my left hip (hip replacement) turned solid red and swelled. No pain at all. Dr said it was strep side of cellulitus. They treated for it in hospital through IV for a week and went away. 2 weeks ago I broke out with different size red circles on my left hip only. Don t kmow what it is.

You had THR in 2012 Jan & after one month there is swelling and redness.
It might be post-op infection.
So you have to consult your operating surgeon regarding this.
After exam. decision could be made that either it superficial or deep one.
