Hi, I use to be an Alcoholic it runs in the family both my parents. So I definitely have a addictive personality. I have not had a drink in 3 years. I have a friend and she introduced me to Crystal Meth and supplies it at no cost like he wants me to become addicted I should have known better I stopped for one day now, but in two weeks my nose is messed up probably deviated septum or perforation no hole in septum, but there is a bone in left nostril if i move my nose I can see it since I snorted it I believe it burned through the skin. Also I have sores in my throat and pallet is looking weird. I regret this and it was so stupid of me. I have pictures to I am sorry but I think something is wrong. Please advise

Hi,

Meth can cause a reduced blood supply to any part of the body including nasal septum and due to this reduced supply of blood, there may be ischemic and necrotic effect on the organ causing damage to the organ. Also, the repetitive picking action, which is a known side effect of meth, may cause excoriations and ulcers of the skin.

However, in your case the effect seems due to snoring the meth and having a more damaging action in your nose and particularly in nasal septum. The sores in throat and pallet also seem due to effect of meth thru snoring. Out of these damages, some may heal themselves with time, if you completely wean off this drug. If still, some residual damage is left, it should be treated under guidance of your doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

There's not an easy treatment. The area has died. Sometimes, plastic surgery can be done to fix it. It isn't easy. It is guaranteed to fail if the plastic surgery is done and the person keeps snorting amphetamine.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
