Heart Palpitations, Addicted To Tobacco

My husband chews a can a day of chewing tobacco and has for 30 plus years . Recently he has been experiencing heart palpitations. He was checked out a few years ago but they said it was nothing. He has taken on a new position in his job as a District Mgr. I was thinking it is anxiety related. I did get him an appointment with his doctor.
