Heart Burn, Pain In Chest While Swallowing, Burning Sensation While Passing Stool, Burp. Treatment?


Hello Doc,
I am Satish Gupta, 26 yrs, married, working as computer teacher, i am from a small village of maharashtra. I am suffering from regular heart burn, pain at right side of my chest while sollowing food, while passing stool I experience burning sensation and digestion have become very bad, there is a regular burning in my stomach, in chest upto my neck, i always feel fullfillness of stomach even i if dont eat whole day, a little over eat is lead to neausea and uneasyness, i am frequently getting burp with chest burning, one or twice in a month i get mouth ulcers, finally due to all this i didnt get good sleep at night. i have suggested for upper & lower endoscopy with small bavel biopsy, please suggest me what should i do, i want to get well as i am suffering from all these from past 4-5 years but could not afford expensive treatment as i am from lower class family...

Hello! Mr.Satish. Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist (DM).
What all you have to do is:
1.Avoid fatty meals
2. Don't lie down soon after meals for at least half hour
3.Take small and frequent meals, instead of full meals at a time
4. wear loose clothes
5. If you are overweight or obese do weight reduction with dieting and exercise
6. Avoid smoking if you do
7. Do regular aerobic exercise at least 30 minutes / day
8.Observe when you take milk or milk products whether these symptoms worsen, if yes then please avoid them
9. Avoid carbonated drinks, wine or beer
10. take black tea and add cardamom and ginger to it and take them with meals
11. Don't forget to close mouth while chewing food and Eat slowly

Among the medications:
1. take a prokinetic agent like domperidone
2. And a proton pump inhibitor like rabeprazole
3. Make your stool soft if they are hard in consistency by taking some laxative
4.Take Tablets that contain enzymes protease, amylase, lipase with meals

If not relieved with these advise then you have to seek the opinion of a Gastroenterologist
