Having High Fever. Took Amoxicillin And P-125. No Improvement. Treatment?

Hi... My daughter is 1.3 years old. She is having very high fever ( 102-104 degrees) past 2 days. I took her to a doctor. He prescribed 5 ml of P-125 every 5 hours and amoxicillin antibiotic 2.5 ml twice a day. I'm also wiping her body with wet cloth at regular intervals. But fever has not reduced to a greater extent. She is vomiting even. Please advice.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi ! Initially it can be thought to be a viral fever, which needs only anti pyretics. If it is continuous and persisting for a longer duration, your doctor may advise you to go for some routine blood tests like CBC,smear for MP, PS,widal/typhi dot test and a urine routine/culture sensitivity to rule out commonly encountered problems for fever. Further management will depend on the investigation reports. I am sure any throat and ear infection must have been excluded by your treating doctor. You may continue tepid sponging as you are already doing now.
Wishing your daughter an early recovery.
