Have Red Swollen Hands With Knuckles. Doctor Suggested To Take Food Containing Iron And To Avoid Cauliflower And Coconut. Why?

I was reading an already asked question about red swollen hands with white knuckles. Dr recommended on this site that maybe neuropathy and low iron and to seek a md. But he also stated to avoid tomatoes, potatoes, cauliflower, coconut, and a few more but to eat more foods in iron. Why cauliflower and coconut? I understand the others, as in nightshade foods.

Hi there ~

I do not understand why one should not eat cauliflower or coconut if they have iron deficiency. I do not think there would be restriction on any food items if you have iron deficiency. One thing that we as doctors know is that any other micronutrient mineral like Calcium or Zinc or Selenium or Magnesium when taken in concert with Iron may inhibit the absorption of each other and cause respective deficiencies. I hope this helps.

Take care and have a lovely day!
