Irritation, Burning Sensation Over Backside Area Below The Thumb Where Had A Dog Bite. Why Is It ?

Hi I am 27 year old, last year in January I got bitten by my dog, although it was not actually a bite, he was playing and accidently his tooth got poked at the backside area below the thumb . I have got all the injections including ARS, but since two days back I am feeling irritation and slight burning sensation over that area where i got hurt. I don t know if it is normal or not because its long time (1 year) now. Also My dog died the next day due to brain hemorrhage, he was long time sick.

Hello
Thank you for placing your query on Health Care Magic
Since you have taken all the necessary vaccines, you need not worry about anything serious. However some times few superficial nerves get entangled in the forming scar and they give a funny sensation long after. First thing is to notice is whether it is well localised to that scar or is a bit generalised. Generalised pain may indicate some vitamin or essential micronutrient deficiencies. That can be resolved with thiamine (Vitamin B1) taken orally. If its truly localised then you need to decide whether its tolerable or not. If its mild, you can ignore it and it will resolve itself (though it may take a long time). However if its severe then you may consult a pain specialist.
Hope that helps
God bless you
