Have Palpitations, High Heart Rate, Arrhythmia, Unable To Sleep. What Is The Reason?

I am 32 y/o Male, having palpitation for past few days .... Felt couple of time feeling of heart skipping a beats ... I exercise on stationary cycle at mild resistance at 70-85% of Heart Rate Max for 50- 60 min.
I am Physical Therapist by profession, so knows medical terminology and tried to find what could be the cause and found out that Arythmias or Dysrythmia can be a cause ...
Knowing all these worried me more than anything else ... Unable to sleep due to negative thoughts of heart attacks or any life threatening condition may happend to me ...
I am trying to find an appointment for cardiologist ASAP....
Meanwhile want to know what would be cause of it.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Most of them are benign...
The first step is to see a Cardiologist / Irregular heart beats need to be DOCUMENTED by ElectroCardioGram (EKG). / Standard ECG records the electrical activity of the heart, for a few seconds. It can detect the arrhythmia occurring during that time only. If the episode occurs randomly or precipitated by a specific activity like exercise, one needs Holter or event monitor.
Anaemia / Anxiety / Alcohol / Tobacco (smoking) / Caffeine (too much tea, coffee, cola) / Fever / Infection / Pain / Stress / Thyroid / Medicines like Phenylephrine used for ‘cold’; Salbutamol used for asthma and so on - may be responsible.... / At times, abnormal nerve paths in the heart (bypass tracts) or disease of the conduction system may be responsible!
ECHOcardiogram / TMT (Treadmill exercise ECG) / LABORATORY work-up – may all be necessary for further assessment and assistance.
You may even need Electro Physiological Studies (EPS)
The treating doctor may suggest them depending on need, based on his assessment of the situation.

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
