Have Fever, Rashes On Body, Eyes Are Red In Corner. Prescribed Advantan. Right Medication?
My 4mth ad 3wks old son has a rash all over his body, he also has a high fever mostly at night around 11 till close 2 in the morning. Monday morning both his eyes were red in the corner, should I be concerned, his pediatrician didn't find anything to explain the problem, she gave me advantan and suggest I atop giving him pear. Any suggestion.
Your son has fever associated with rash and red eyes. These symptoms seem to be due to some viral infection. Most viral infections resolve within 5-7 days. In the meantime you can give him paracetamol for fever. If there is itching associated with the rash then you can use hydroxizine or cetrizine (after consulting your pediatrician for correct dose based on weight) at night.
But if he has continuous high grade fever, decreased oral intake, lethargy, symptoms persisting beyond 7 days, rash involving oral mucosa then i would advice you to visit a pediatrician immediately.
