Hi,
The medication your doctor has prescribed controls your condition by reducing the acidity in your stomach.
But things like alcohol, smoking and stress are factors that will make your condition worse, as such reduce and avoid smoking and alcohol as much you can.
The only way you will bleed to death is if your gastritis progresses and becomes an ulcer, in order to avoid that I highly recommend that you reduce smoking and drinking.
I hope this answered your question.
