Have Wolf Parkinson White SVT. Breathlessness, Chest Pressure, Light Headed, Feeling Hot. What Could It Be?

Hi my boyfriend is 42. He s overweight and doesn t eat healthy...Fast food almost everyday. He also has a very high stress job and a lot of family stress issues going on in the last few months. He has normal to slightly high BP. He often gets out of breath very easily. He has Wolf Parkinson White svt. Which his heart rate gets to between 2 and 300. He sometimes passes out during these attacks. But has them very rarely. I have been told by him that this Wolf Parkinson White svt is genetic and his dad had it and so does his 26 yr old son. His dad died suddenly several months ago at age 64. And he didn t want an autopsy ever done on him so the doctor said it was most .likely either a heart attack or aneurysm . We have been together 6 months and for the last month or so not only does he get out of breath easy but he s been having some strange symptoms. One night while in bed he had a lot of chest pressure, not pain or heart burn which he has a lot of but just pressure and kinda hard to talk,e a deep breath. He just says he feels weird. He s also had a couple episodes of were he felt something weird with his chest. First tnougt it was heartburn and maybe a little svt but just wasn t sure what it was. During these episodes his ain symptoms are he feels an unusual chest discomfort and gets light headed and gets suddenly very hot and flushed on his face, ears and neck. And somewhat weak feeling. He ot this at work today and had several co workers tell him he looked over red on his face. He felt bad enough to tell a couple other managers there if anything happens to me you need to tell the paramedics I have svt. He felt a little weird like this again tonight. I m over concerned about him....Please help!!! What does this sound like it could be? Thanks, Karen

hi karen
welcome to healthcare magic
as your boyfriend suffers from svt, a whole cardiology checkup would be of benefit,
an ecg,an echo, a stress ecg test, holter ecg, so know when he gets his attacks of svt.
other thing is he needs to change his diet do exercise and cope with the stress he is undergoing because all these are risk factors that can trigger a heart attack.
he needs to be checked if he has any symptoms of heart failure because of the shortness of breath he experiences.
needs regular check ups with his blood pressure as the symptoms he might be experiencing could be due to his pressure going high
would suggest take him to visit a cardiologist for a through check up and put on treatment as he is having problems despite having a genetic problem
hope have been able to answer your query
hoping for your boyfriend quick recovery.
