Hands Started To Peel On Palms. Is This Just A Reaction To The Baking Soda?

Hands are constantly in a water and baking soda solution for work. Hands started to peel on palms and tops of hands have become very dry. Now there are raw patches of skin on the palm side of some of my fingers. Is this just a reaction to the baking soda? Is this okay? I am always putting lotion on.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern this is occupational hazard and what the history given here is suggestive of reactive manifestation of chemical agent and this is not good at all the skin lesion could destruct the skin protection layer and then chances of infection would increase, you need to use protective gear for this, or else quit the job, take care and have nice day.
