Had Unprotected Intercourse, Taken Unwanted 72 Without Checking Dates. Is It Safe?
Hi, i had unprotected sex yest and i have unwanted 72 but i fear it has expired. I cannot check the date since its not visible. is it however safe to take it?

As you must be aware Unwanted 72 is an emergency contraceptive to be taken to avoid pregnancy in accidental unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failures.It can be taken upto& within 72 hours of the unprotected intercourse.
Please remember that any medication should not be taken after it's expiry date since the safety & efficacy of it's content cannot be guaranteed then .
It may have lost its potency as it is afterall a hormonal pill and might also lead to drug reactions.
So please buy a new packet which will ensure that the medication will be effective in serving its purpose.
Please do not panic if you have consumed the tablet by now , in which case it would be best to consult your gynaecologist & if feasible repeat the full course with a newer one 24 hrs laterafter doctors advice.
I hope you haven't consumed it yet & hope you will avoid such mishaps in future by taking necessary precautions.
