Had Surgery For Metatarsal Breakage. Skin Feels Sore And Irritated On Scar. Suggest

Hi,Broke my 5fifth metatarsal march 17.Had surgery for repair March 23.Its all going well, but now that I am out of 'the boot of shame" and in regular shoes,my skin is very sore and irritated in a few spots on the scar.I had 2 pins and what appeared to be 2 wires in a figure 8 done as a repair.Wonderful Surgeon,I have 100% trust in him,but Im wondering when the skin will either wear thru{?}or callous over.

Hello,
Thanks for writing in.
Nice to know you dont have a plastr cast on your foot any more.
After having the foot in cast, the skin changes a bit. ALso you have also had surgery in the region, hence healing of scar is in progress. It will take sometime for the skin to get back its normalcy, however the scar may persist.
You yourself have said that your sugeon is a wonderful person and I agree with you, please dont worry.
