Had Sex With Condom, Oral Sex, Had Genital Contact. Now Have Flu, Sneezing, Headaches, Bumps. HIV?

Hello doctor. I had sex with a person I just met a little over a month ago. A condom was used during penetrative sex, but there was also oral sex and genital contact. 2 days later, I noticed pimple-lke bumps on my upper thighs. Then a few days later I got a sore throat and it persisted until almost 3 weeks after the sexual encounter, when I began to experience flu-like symptoms. I was sneezing intensely, with a very uncomfortable blocked nose, an elevated temperature, headaches were episodic, few, and far-between, and very mild fatigue. Also at about the same time, I developed some patchy brwon blotches, a few of them, on my forearms. All these symtoms have now diasppeared bu I am living in fear that I have contracted Hiv. Could this possibly be?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

You had protected oral sex. Oral sex and genital contact carry very low risk of transmission of HIV.
Earliest manifestation of HIV can occur only after 3 weeks of high risk activity.
Any other manifestations are not necessarily related to HIV.
Sore throat and fever are commonest manifestations those anybody can have even in the absence of HIV.
So nothing to worry.
Have a HIV test after 3 months to see that you have not been infected with HIV.
