Had Ricketts As A Child, Have Epilepsy, High Alkaline Phosphatase Levels. On Dilantin. Is It Liver Damage?

I had ricketts as a child due to prossessing problems. I was born with normal height and weight but immediately started developing nutritional deficiencoies. I now have epilepsy, which began after 50 years of age. My blood tests show high alkaline phosphatase. I take 400 mg. of dilantin daily. What does that one reading really mean. I read about liver damage, etc... What can I expect?

high alkaline phosphatase may have significance if BMD (Bone mineral density) is poor, or bones show osteomalacia ( a condition like rickets in adults) or serum calcium levels are abnormal.Isolated rise may or may not show liver derangement. Sometimes it is high protein diet (meat and non-veg) also giving raised alk ptase in absence of liver disorder.Fatty liver can also show it.
