Had Protected Sex, Have Tremors In Hands And Legs, Painful Knee. Is It HIV Infection?
Hi, I had protected sex about two and a half weeks ago. However, I am now having some tremors in my arms and hands. Sometimes I feel like there are things crawling on my skin but not often. And my skin around the right knee area is feeling painful sometimes when I touch it genitally. Do this have anything to do with HIV infection? Would results be accurate for oral test in this period of time? Thank you.
Earliest HIV manifestations could occur only after 3-4 weeks after the risky exposure. Anything manifested prior to this period could not be due to HIV. Moreover you had your sex with protection which itself save guard you to the extent of 99%. So you need not worry about the same. Insect crawling sensation are illusions due to your fear complex against HIV infection. Pain around knee is also not likely to be related to HIV. There are tests available more sensitive and specific to be done after 3-4 weeks of risky exposure to know your HIV status. Dr S.Murugan
