Had Miscarriage. Have Subseptate Uterus. Can I Ever Have A Baby?

i am a 35 year old woman.last week i have gone through a miscarriage at 7 weeks and have been told that it was pre dominanetly because i had a subseptate uterus.I have also been told that there is a chance of my next pregnancy also going into a miscarriage. this is totally disheartening..Is there any treatment for it?

Hi thanks for your question. There are different congenital anomalies of uterus and one among them of subseptate uterus, in which septum starts from top of uterus and pulls down the top of uterus to base making it heart shaped. Pregnancy is difficult in this type of uterus and results in frequent miscarriages. However good news is that septum can be removed surgically. Normal shape of uterus can be restored and a healthy full term pregnancy can take place in this uterus. Hope this answers your question
