Had Light Periods. Ultrasound Shows Both Abdominally And Transvaginally. Uterus. Advised D&C. Suggestions?
Greetings, I haven't had a period almost 1 1/2 years, I'm 54. June 10th I had what I thought was a period. Went to Dr and he suggested Ultrasound both abdominally and transvaginally. Uterus 5.7 x 4.2 x 4.7cm. Endometrioma is 6 to 7 mm. Doc wants to perform D&C. What are your thoughts? I think it's something else because my left side hurts day after day and I feel extremely bloated.
Hi Dear, Any amount of bleeding from genital tract after a female has attained a menopause, needs to be fully investigated for the cause. Also i thin, what you have mentioned as endometroima, is extually endometrial thickness and that to of 6-7mm in a menopausal lady is more. D&C suggested by your doctor should be done to exclude a uterine pathology Go ahead with the treatment All the best
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The D&C has been suggested only for diagnostic purposes to find out any endometrial pathology. The intermittent spotting that you had after menopause needs to be investigated. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
