Had Cesarean Section, Excessively Tired, Unable To Produce Adequate Breast Milk. Is My Pituitary Or My Hypothalamus Damaged From The Blood Loss?

I had a cesarean section 5 weeks ago, had pre-eclampsia and a frontal placenta, as a result there was quite a bit of blood loss during the surgery (about 1 1/2 Liters) since i've been home, i've been excessively tired, to the point of malaise, and i have been unable to produce adequate breast milk, is my pituitary or my hypothalamus damaged from the blood loss?

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

In the setting of a delivery associated with excessive blood loss, IF you experienced significant drop in your blood pressure during the procedure, you CAN have damage to the pituitary gland. This is called Sheehan's syndrome. You definitely need to get in to your doctor to check blood counts AND your thyroid.

I hope that this helps!
