I had just had a root canal stArted because the nerve in my tooth was called dead nerve . Had the root canal started he put medicine inside my tooth n stuff in tooth to keep it sealed till I go back next month to have it finished. That was on Monday. This morning I woke up under my tongue was swollen but don t hurt when touched but under my chin if you touch it hurts and is swollen and it hurts at times to swallow . Any idea what it could be?
Hello and welcome, Thanks for posting your query. The swelling under tongue may be due to- Over-penetration of needle of syringe into gums. Overdose of local anaesthetic solution injected. Overpenetration of files into canals beyond the apex. I would advice you to visit your dentist and get a thorough clinical as well as x-ray evaluation done. Take complete course of antibiotics. Pulp canals has to be cleaned well and dried. Pus if present at the periapical area has to be drained completely. Gargle frequently using warm saline and betadine rinse. Hope this helps.
