Had Pulmonary TB, Fully Treated, Have Health Check Up Result. Can Any Online Doctor Help Me?

Hi Doctor ,, History.. I had Pulmonary TB 13 years ago and fully treated and completed the course. I went to check up a week ago as i usually do to keep status of my health and came out with as mentioned below. The findings are 1. Fibronoduar opacities on the upper right lope 2. Mantoux test-- strongly positive My inquiries 1.Is this the new TB again invading me 2. If not How can i rid Fibronodular opacities of from my lungs 3. Do I need to start my TB treatment 4. I do not have any of the TB symptoms 5. should i stop my regular exercise like jogging in the evening etc

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

1. TB on chest X ray is active if there is change in X ray taken 6 months apart. Your fibronodular opacities might be from TB you had 13 years ago.

2. Fibronodular opacities in X ray can persist for a lifetime. It is due to scarring of lung tissue and does not disappear usually.

3. Mantoux test can be false positive. Please get higher tests done and confirm TB diagnosis before starting treatment.

4. It is good that you do not have any TB chest symptoms. TB can involve any part of the body and symptoms need not occur every time.

5. Please continue your regular exercise and jogging if you have stamina.
