Got Hit On The Center Of The Head. Just A Small Swelling. Now Feeling Little Dizzy, Less Concentration. Problem?
I took a very hard hit to the top of my head about 48 hours ago. A bike was on a shelf over my head, fell over and hit me almost in the center of my head. no concussion symtoms noticed that day nor yesterday. I got a cut on my head a just a tiny bit of sweeling yesterday that is gone today. The impact spot is not overly sensitive. Today i'm feeling kinda funny. A little dizzy some times, hard to concentrate others times. Could i be experiecing delayed reactions to the hit?
Hi and thanks for the query, the fear is this case is tat you might have had some some brain trauma with brain injury of bleeding. The absence of loss of consciuosness, headache, visual abnormalities and vomiting from the beginning is comforting, in assuring there is no expansive process in the brain and consequently no intra cranial hypertension. What you need now is monitoring of these symptoms. If you notice aby of them and have the feeling of losing strength in one side of the body or persistent state of not feeling well, you might need to consult your family physician for a proper clinical evaluation. This might require a brain CT scan. But for now, I suggest you remain calm but very observant on any abnormal symptoms or aggravation of general state of well being. thanks and hope this helps, best regards, Luchuo, MD.
