The sludge in the gall bladder lead to stone formation. if the stones are small ask your doc for medicines to dissolve it if possible, if not and they are more in number and big, then get it operated.

Hi, I have been suffering with severe heartburn for which I have had a ultrasound to check my gallbladder (found a few gallstones but not believed to be causing the issue) and am waiting to be referred for an endoscopy next. Last night after a glass of wine (not a regular drinker) my heartburn was extreme causing me to be sick (not unusual). However, my vomit was black which concerned me. Is this something I should be worried about?

Sorry it s so long! I am 27 yo female, 5 8, 135lbs. I have been dealing with nausea and pain between my rib cage near my LES on a daily basis for about 2 years. I gag daily, however, am rarely able to throw anything up. My original dr told me it was reflux and sent me home with prevacid, which did nothing. My symptoms are not consistent with food intake. I am an SLP and performed an informal barium swallow test on myself to see if I could see any reflux. My stomach appeared to be sagging near my hip bones and radiologist suggested a CT or ultrasound to rule out any tumors, etc. Ultrasound found gallstones, which my GI dr immediately assumed was the problem. My symptoms were not consistent with gallstones so I asked to have a few more tests run to rule out any other disorder. EGD came back positive for H.Pylori which was treated with no relief. Otherwise no remarkable findings. I reluctantly had my gallbladder removed May 28, 2010. I had no nausea for 2 weeks, but it has since returned. GI dr yesterday wanted to have another EGD and if nothing was found, said he would just treat symptoms. I find this unnecessary as nothing has changed since my last EGD in March. Drs wants to label me with the most common disorders they see. It s obviously something that may require a little critical thinking. I have frequent headaches, fatigue and hypothyroidism. PLEASE HELP!

Hi, My 10 year old son is in agony in all likelyhood with gallstones, confrimed by two GPs, ultrasound pending.. myself and my mother had gallstones removed in our childhood years, which is why we are fairly certain about him having gallstones. He currently takes codeinphosphate and ibopofen and paracetamol as painkillers (which all do not appear to work). We now suggested him also being described mebeverine which he takes. Is this commonly used for dealing with spasms? can it be recommended for kids...

I have lower right abdominal pain and i bloat to the point where i look pregnant and have severe gas every time i eat. the pain is almost always there but a few times a day it goes away for a little bit. I have had all the upper gi tests done and all came back normal except a hiatal hernia. i had surgery for endometreosis last september and i was told that my pain has something to do with my intestines or small bowel because of where my pain is. is it possible to have formed adhesians from abdominal surgery even though its not right nest to the incision spot. ive been in alot of pain for a few months and the hospital admits me and then lets me go. i was treated for pancreantitis 2 months ago because my lypo enzymes were high and i also at the time had pain in the upper quadrent (which i still do when i eat and after i eat) and they said that the cts and all test came back normal. And my white blood cells keep going up and then back to normal and the up again. and they say my gallbladder looks normal even though i have all the signs of gallbladder stones but no stones and in aditition the lower right pain that pain meds only take the edge off the pain and sometimes make it worse. my bowel movements are very strange i go to the bathroom a few times a day because only a little bit comes out and i cant have a normal one time bowel movement and it comes out soft and sometimes really dark brown almost black. can you help me find the right dr that will listen to me and not send me home with treatments like nexium and protonix and carafate like my family dr is doing becuase i want my life back and im getting depressed that im getting no awnsers except from the gyno i saw in the hospital who said it could be adhesions from my surgery. does that sound right?
