Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello, as you are able to walk, chances of any fracture are less but it might be some blunt injury to bone and surrounding soft tissues. You can go for a basic x ray leg with knee and ankle AP and lateral view plus go for ice compress 4-6 times daily for 15-20 min each. Take some analgesic and rest for a day or two. Keep your leg elevated on a pillow. For any other assistance on matter mail me at drgautamsipani@gmail.com

hi,
thanks for writing to HCM,

for your problem use cold packs on the painful areas for first 2 days (cold pack for 10 mins thrice a day) followed by hot pack from 3 rd day (hot pack-hot water bag for 10 mins thrice a day). give rest to your leg , you can use crepe bandage on you painful part which should be firmly wrapped to provide support and slight compression but should not be very tight. elevation of leg while lying by placing pillows underneath and placing leg on a table while sitting will also help. you can also apply any anti inflammatory analgesic to the area.

if this initial care for 4-5 days still doesn't help or your condition doesn't improve. kindly see a orthopaedician nearby you. if any tests will be required (like X-RAY) he/she will guide you accordingly.

i hope this helps
wish you good health..
