On the 20th I tripped and fell over a chair and tried to catch myself so that I would not hurt myself to seriously. However, I hit my ribs up close to my left breast and am having trouble taking deep breaths. The pain and soreness starts under my left breast and goes around my left side around to my back about middle ways. I don't notice any bruising except one small bruise, but it is a tad bit lower and I think that it is unrelated to this fall. I am in a considerable amount of pain and although I do not believe that I have broken a rib, I do believe there is either a crack or a bruised one. My question is this, "What can I do for it?" I am from Tennessee and am in New York on vacation...I can't just go to the dr for a reg. visit. I am already taking some pain meds, as I have a bulging disk in my lower back...the meds arent helping this. Any advice would be appreciated. I am sort of desperate. I will go to the dr if I need to, I just don't want to call the ins. company to get approval, if I dont have too. Thanks for your help. Sheri
