my father has hypertention. today bp was 190/80. he took 10mg amlodipine. no effect. 2 hr later he took 4mg crestor. now its 170/78 is it safe to give him 4mg crestor if bp seems same. his heart ead beating sooo fast. usally it is under control with amlodipine.????? please sugesst he is going to his home town in 2 days what are the things I should care about during his flight..he says he wants to go to his home town safely after he doesn't care.....

Hi , it appears to be due to the anxiety, crestor is a statin group of drug for controling the cholesterol. It has nothing to do with the lowering the B.P.instantaneously. so if you take more also there will be no use.
I to my patient who wants instantaneous lowering B.P.prescribe, nefidepine 10 mg softgel capsule, sublingually. then the regular medicines are to be continued. Thank you.
