Is It Safe To Take Losartan And Amlodipine For Hypertension?

Hello Doctor,I am young adult having pre-hypertension from last 10 years.want to know which hypertension is better with less side affects and effectiveness.Co-eziday [Losartan (K):100mg, Hydrochlorothiazide:25mg]Avsar [Valsartan:160mg, Amlodipine (Besylate):10mg]Please advice.

Hi,
I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. You should be worried but not too much.

These drugs are very safe in hypertension. Every drug has side effects. till your blood pressure is under control with these drugs just keep on going with same medicines.
Amlodipine causes pedal edema and losartan can cause cold or flu symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, fever;
dry cough; muscle cramps; pain in your legs or back; stomach pain, diarrhea; headache, dizziness; tired feeling; or. sleep problems (insomnia). out of these dry cough is most common.

If you do not have any of these side effects then there is no issues,
