I am also having involuntary contractions in my left foot ... feels like I am pressing doewn on the ball of the foot sometimes several times a minute, sometimes it is less often. I am also experiencing numbness, tingling and fascinations particularly on the left side of my body. I am 44, weigh 196 lbs and have had a history of high blood pressure although I am not currently on high blood pressure medications. I am worked about thins like ALS, Parkinson s and MS but seem to be getting symptoms all over the place which I know is unusual. Also don t think I have muscular weakness in feet or hands.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

The sensation of pain & twiching is mainly due to nerve compression, which can be attributed to:
1. Carpel tunnel syndrome.
2. Inflammation.
3. Incorrect sitting or sleeping posture.
4. Systemic diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension.
5. Deficiency of nutrients like Vit B6, Vit B12, Folic acid, Calcium, which help in proper nerve conduction.

As you had a history of high blood pressure, there may be a possibility of Hypertensive neuropathy.

Though symptomatic relief can be obtained by administration of multivitamins, multi minerals & nervigenic supplements, the underlying cause for the symptoms should be managed to prevent recurrence.

So, it will be better to consult your General Physician & get a proper clinical examination done.
Investigations like Nerve conduction studies and estimation of blood pressure & blood sugar levels will be helpful in clinching the diagnosis.

Wishing you a Good Health.
Thanks & take care.
