Experiencing Chest Pressure. Feeling Light Headed, Dizzy. Having High Blood Pressure. Took Xanax. Check Up Required?

I have been experiencing chest pressure all day today. It came on sudden this morning and I felt very light headed - almost dizzy. I was driving at the time. I came home and have been taking my blood pressure about every 1/2 hour all day. It ranges from high of 174/98 to low of 134/98 with an average around 155/98. I take blood pressure medication and took a water pill when I got home as well as a half of a xanax - nothing has stopped the pressure feeling. I have also been hearing my blood pulsing in my head all day, this has been ongoing for over a month. Should I go to the hospital or just watch for other symptoms and continue monitoring?

Hello!
You should go to the hospital for three reasons:

_before your symptoms worsens and give you complication
_ blood pressure medication do not low pressure(your doctor should add medication dose or change it)
_your symptoms are for over a month and is enough to be worried
