Experienced A Progressive Pulsating Sensation In The Area Of The Jugular. Cause?

Hello, i just experienced a progressive pulsating sensation in the area of the jugular which lasted 5 to 10 seconds, progressed from small to large twitch, then stopped. I was lying down at the time. Any idea what could cause something like that? I ve experienced random twitches in various parts of the body as most people do, but this wasn t like that. It was more like a pulsation and it was progressive. Thank you for your help!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcomet o HCM.
This icommonly experieced wehn heart beat irregularly for few seconds or minutes. In most cases this doesnt mean anything serious. It is called extrasystole. Sometimes there can be prolonged heart arythmia and then it must be terated by certain medicines. ALso you could have experience neck muscle twitching. Whatever it is it really isnt serious if you dont have any other symptoms such as headache, tingling or vision disorders. I suggest to do ECG or HOLTER to be sure. But you have time for it. Wish you good health.
