Enlarged Vein On Penis. Taken Antibiotics For Chlamydia. Have Discomfort. What Could This Be?

I have a vein that has in the past three months become unusually enlarged. It is right at the base of my penile shaft. The dorsal vein leading up to it has also enlarged, but right at the base it balloons out into a very large "bump." I first noticed this about three months ago, perhaps not coincidentally when I had just contracted chlamydia (which I have only contracted once, and which was successfully treated with antibiotics).
This continues to worry me because of the discomfort, and because of the fact that it continues to grow larger. What's more, the smaller tributary veins to that area are now becomes engorged too, making the "bump" bigger and bigger.
What could this be? Should I be concerned?

Hi ! Most likely it is a superficial thrombophlebitis which might have during some vigorous sexual activity or during the infection you had earlier. There is nothing serious about it. You can go for a clinical examination of the swelling by your family physician who may prescribe some anti inflammatory and antibiotics for you which may relieve your symptoms. Wishing you an early recovery.
