Elevated Blood Glucose Levels. Taking Zetia, Tramadol, Detrol La, Sio Niacin. Side Effects Of Medicine?

Hi, Have recently had lab tests that indicated hyperglycemia. I am presently on Zetia for elevated cholesterol levels. Also am taking a low dose of Tramadol nightly for arthritis symptoms and Detrol LA for overactive and sensitive bladder. Also take Slo-Niacin to help lower cholesterol. Would these cause elevated blood glucose levels?

Hello,

Thanks for posting on HCM,

Looking at all the medications, there is none that presents one of its side effect as hyperglycemia. If you are having hyperglycemia, then it might be probably due to another diseases such as Diabetes mellitus, insulinoma, pancreatic disorder etc. You will need a doctor to take a proper look at this and see if it requires medical therapy to control the elevated sugar.

Hope this helps

Hi, it appears that you would have elevated blood sugar due to the tramadol, or may not be , first you stop or change the pain medication, and watch again, if it is there consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment. Don't worry you will be fine with the medicines. Thank you.
