Due For Operation For Endometriosis. Prescribed Lupron Shot Followed With Bleeding. Soft And Spongy Pelvic Area. Shrinking Endometriosis?

doc. i m suffering from endometrioses and dr has given date for operation on 14.my ca level is 550.Dr.has also prescribed me lupron shot on 19 sep.after which the next day i started bleeding.flow was not heavy.since yesterday i m feeling that my pelvic area which was tight earlier...now it is soft and spongy..i wanted to know why this happend....is it endometrioses shrinking?

Hello ma'am.

The presentation could most probably be due to the shedding of the endometrial lining seen in the form of bleeding, caused by the lupron shot.

The endometriosis canmot be treated with these medications and they can only help to reduce the severity temporarily which will help in gping about surgery in an easier manner.
