Drainage from my navel, do i have fibromyalgia ?

I am 45 yrs old and noticed a few months ago that I have drainage from my navel. It crusts up and I clean it out and it will be there again night after night...I have tenderness around my navel...and have read up on omphalitis to find out that it is very rare for adults to have this....I am not sure if I have had any other symptoms being as they seem to be so vague. I have had in the past month tachycardia and hypertension which i have never had before. I was told just to keep it clean and put bactroban on it.. However I am very concerned that I may need antibiotics...and from what I have read that It could be a sign of something more serious. I work for a Physician and was told that yes I have omphalitis but it wont kill me... However I have been dianoised with a right temporal lobe brain lesion over 2 yrs ago and now he tells me i have fibromyalgia...I trust this Doctor very much, however I am concerned that he might be making light of this...

He is not making light of this as omphalitis being fatal is very rare.Specially when you have now got yourself medically examined.Bactroban may be a good suggestion for the time being.Ask your physician about antibiotic but he seems to have a reason why he has not started antibiotics for you yet.Hypertension, tachycardia and fibromyalgia may not be related with with you omphalitis at all.I would suggest not to bother much about it but in case you are finding something very troublesome, have a serious talk with your physician. You can consult another one locally or even with one online.

Hello! I ve been recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia by a rheumatoid arthritis specialist. I recently retired and have been involved in physical fitness all my life. I am having a hard time accepting this diagnosis but have taken it upon myself to talk to a cognitive therapist, been to a chiropractor many times and have become an active yoga enthusiast. I don t enjoy the thought of trying various pain medications for fear of their side effects. I understand there is a blood test called FM/a which identifies markers produced by immune system blood cells with in people with fibro. Is this worth pursuing? My symptoms include pain in both upper thighs (t-bands), chronic stiffness in the neck and shoulder areas. Could this be related to some other underlying condition that hasn t been checked? I am having difficulty with this diagnosis since I have been quite active all my life (60 now). With Thanks

Hi, Patient is a 66 year old female, suffering from severe oedema(Edema). In severe pain. On multiple pain killers( paracetamol, tramadol, pregabalin) , amytryptyline and furosemide(diuretic) also losartan for blood pressure. Symptoms appeared to get worse when she recommenced statins(pravastatin). Had been on steroids but stopped following bloating. Has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and told that cause is unknown and that a cure is unlikely and that only the underlying symptoms can be treated to attempt to minimise pain. Now considering alternative therapies including accupuncture and manual lymphatic drainage. Any help and advice would be most welcome as she feels she cannot continue in this amount of discomfort and pain any more. Many thanks.
