Does Withdrawal Of Prednisone For Breathlessness Cause Any Side Effect In Infants?

Hello my question is my baby who is almost 7 months has a bad cough and a runny Nose. We took her to the doctors he said she has a viral infection so he said to do breathing treatments. they helped alil but the next day We had to take her to the ER because she couldn t breathe, they gave her prednisolone for 5 days, 10 ml once a day. The medication helps so much. So she has one day left with the medication and I m scared when She s off it She s gonna get bad again. Is it bad to use for a long time?

HI
Well come to HCM
Appreciate your concern
Underlying cause of respiratory distress need to be ruled out, differential diagnosis would be matter of concern.
Advise:
Pediatric opinion is must, may need x-ray of chest
Cardiac status need to be examined well
May need routine blood test
Treatment:
Take care for hydration, watch the baby for respiratory depression, (Breathlessness )
Medication:
bronchodilator can be used in form of nebulizer (Salbutamol)
Hope this helps, take care.
