Does Vitamin-c Help In Curing Lung Infections?

hi im em.em lastfebruary i was diagnosed having a streaky densities in my upper left lung..andi was advised to reray in 12 weeks..without consulting a doctor i only take ascorbic acid and a vital c te once a day before meal.. last month i had my another xray andit shows partial clearing of ptb, upper left lung .......reray in 12 weeks...is it possible that taking vitamin c has helped curing my infections? what will be the best thing i must do with this? thank you and God bless!!!

Thanks for your question on HCM. Vitamin C is natural anti oxidant and helpful in cell regeneration and development of immunity. So no harm in taking it. For your case I advice you to consult pulmonologist first and rule out infection first as upper lobe lesion can be
1. TB
2. Pneumonia
3. Old TB lesion.
So get done CT Thorax and sputum for AFB or bronchoscopy and BAL analysis. These will help in diagnosing your lesion. And yes, you can continue vit c. As no harm in it.
