Does Taking Hydrocodone Cause Smelly Hair?

For the past two days my hair has smelled like metal/gas/really heavy bad scent and I tried switching my shampoo and conditioner and washing my hair but nothing is helping. Please help. I also just had a breast lift surgery and have took hydrocodon for the pain along with a few other pain pills. Could that be related?

Hello,

Pain killers do not have any such type of effects. Since your hair is smelling metallic, take care of your hygiene. Wash your hair 2-3 times daily with Selsun shampoo or any medicated shampoo. Keep your scalp clean.

The metallic smell can emanate when your scalp is exposed to smoke or burning industrial waste or chemicals, allergy to some food stuff (mineral supplements, high protein shakes, red meat-beaf, junk food), addictions (smoking, drugs, etc).

The oil & sweat excreted by the skin nourishes bacteria on your skin causing bad metallic odor.

Your skin disposes of waste products, eat more of fruits, veggies, yogurt, less of onions & garlic.
