Does Taking CoQ10 And Glutathione Lowers The Risk Of Heart Failure?

Can COQ10, glutathione, and PQQ help improve your chances against heart attacks, heart failure, and lower your blood pressure. I know there are other things to incorporate but do these 3 items help. I have never had heart failure or heart attack. However I am being treated for high blood pressure and I am more than 50 pounds overweight. I do not smoke. Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern.
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a substance similar to a vitamin. The cells use it to produce energy to meet the body needs for cell growth and maintenance. It also functions as an antioxidant, which protects the body from damage caused by harmful free radicals. Many claims are made about CoQ10 that it is said to help in conditions like heart failure, as well as other conditions like cancer and muscular dystrophy. It is also known to have other benefits like controling high blood pressure, enhancing immune system function, providing an energy boost for people dealing with fatigue and reducing high cholesterol levels in the blood.
Glutathione is chemically Gamma-Glutamylcysteinylglycine, which is a naturally occurring protein that protects every cell, tissue and organ from toxic free radicals and diseases. Glutathione is involved in many processes in the body, including tissue building and repair, making chemicals and proteins needed in the body, and for the immune system. It is known to benefit in conditions like heart diseases, but more evidence is needed to rate glutathione for such uses.
Kindly take these medications as prescribed by consulting your doctor. However, you need to control other risk factors which could contribute to the development of such diseases.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
