Hello,
Thank you for posting your query to HCM.
Implantation bleeding can be a sign of the
pregnancy and it happens when the ovum implants into the uterine wall and can begin on the 23rd – 28th day of your menstrual cycle. As a result, implantation spotting is possible a few days prior to the date of your period in the current month. It is sometimes taken for early
menstruation. In your case, looks like the spotting has happened a little earlier. So, we cant tell for sure if it was an implantation bleeding.
A pregnancy test will confirm for sure the pregnancy. It may be done the expected day of period, but the b-
HCG level (the hormone that is produced in pregnancy) may be very low. So, if it comes out negative, you need to repeat it after 1 week (so more accurate is to do a test 1 week after the expected period); if it comes out positive, or slightly positive, then it confirms pregnancy.
If you have other questions, feel free to ask.
Take care.
Dr. Papaqako.
