Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello doctor. My question is related to intercourse and pregnancy. My partner and I tried performing intercourse but stopped midway because he wasn t wearing protection and I wasn t sure about the pull out method. He was not deep inside me and he didn t come anytime near that. Before that he masturbated almost 30 minutes back. I read that there are chances of pre-cum having sperms in it. How much chances do I have of getting pregnant and should I hurry up to take an emergency contraceptive pill?
Hello dear Understand your concern Yes pre ejaculatory fluid can cause pregnancy as it contain the sperm. And pull out method is not very effective preventing the pregnancy. I generally advice you to take the emergency contraceptive pill after unprotected sex for safer side as it very effective on preventing the pregnancy. So yes go for the emergency contraception pill. It can cause slight delay in the period as it contain high progesterone level. But if period will delay by 10-12 days from your normal expected period date then you have to go for home pregnancy test to confirm pregnancy. Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
