Does Post Partum Belt Help In Loosing Post Delivery Weight?

Hi! I am 3 weeks post partum and am wondering if the PP band is recommended by physicians. I had a c section and have started light exercise such as brisk walking and using elliptical but am determined to lose baby weight quick! Any suggestions? Does post partum belt help or hinder muscles?

Hello,

The best way to regain pre-pregnancy body shape is by exclusive breastfeeding. You can use band to help your muscles in regaining their strength. In addition to that, you need to do Kegel's exercises which include taking deep breath in and holding all abdominal and peri-anal muscles tight as if you want to avoid passing stools. This has to be done in sequence of 10-12 in morning, afternoon and night.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Viraj Ramesh Naik, OBGYN
