Is Bleeding A Postpartum Period Or Something Else?

I m 10 months post partum. I haven t had a period since stopping birth control pills around 3 or 4 months post partum. All day today I ve had mucousy discharge. Just now after wiping it was blood tinged. About a week ago I had painful abdominal cramps. Is this just a normal post partum period coming or could it be something else? I ve never had mucousy discharge before a period so it seems odd to me.

Hello, I really appreciate your concern. Many hormonal changes occur in postpartum period which leads to different signs and symptoms in different women. From your description, I think you are going to get your periods started again. This kind of discharge is common during this period. So there is nothing to worry about it.
