Does Lupus Cause Neck Pain And Fatigue?

I am still waiting on blood test results for autoimmune diseases including lupus and was wondering if my sudden onset of neck pain and fatigue could be associated with lupus? I just recently went to the Er for extreme neck pain and was told I have 2 degenerate discs and osteoarthritis that hadn t been seen before. I am 49 almost 50 and it was thought before that I might have early peri menopause but now I m wondering if my symptoms might be lupus Just a little scared and worried.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Mere presence of neck pain and fatigue are not signs of the underlying lupus disorder.

* The neck pain may be sequence of spondylosis changes documented on cervical spine x-ray and the fatigue may be secondary to low level of iron or other nutritional factors.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
