Does Low Potassium Levels Causes Fainting Sensation And General Weakness?

I have been experiencing a fainting feeling and general weakness for a few days. Could my potassium level be a factor? When I take Fuorsemide once a week, I feel ill the next day. I also should tell you I Have had a-fib, but my heart rate seems normal.

Hi Thank you for posting your query in HCM. I had gone through your question, i understand your concerns.
Furosemide is a diuretic. It helps in removal of excess of water and salt which includes potassium. Potassium helps in functioning of muscle cells and nerve cells, mainly heart cells. Low potassium levels causes irregular and slow heart beats which causes fainting. Main symptoms of low potassium levels causes weakness, muscle cramps, fatigue.
I would suggest you to consult physician near you for further evaluation.
Hope i have answered your question if you have further questions i will be happy to help.
