Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, My age is 32 yrs, height - 5 ft, weight - approx 60 kg. i had i-pill thrice some years (almost 4 years back) (not in same months). now we are planning to have baby. and so now am worried about if those i-pill will affect me in conceiving the pregnancy. could you please advise me if those are going to affect me and if so is there anything for precautions? Thank you
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... Yes long term use of Ipill can affect your fertility. Actually ipill is a emergency contraceptive pill & it should be used just in case of emergency. One should never use these pills as regular method of contraception. Taking more emergency contraceptive pills can cause serious problems like irregular periods, ectopic pregnancy, ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome & even infertility. But these side effects is not necessary in every case.
Don't worry, first try to conceive in normal way. Consult a gynaecologist if some problem occurs.
Hope this information helps
