Does Itching And Numbness In Palm & Thumb Indicate Carpal Tunnel?
I have an intermittent itch in the palm of my left hand, and occasional tingling/ numbness on the right side of my left thumb. Could this be carpal tunnel? Something else? I am 33 years old and have a desk job with light to moderate typing (therapist). I am right handed.
Hello You mentioned that there is itching and numbness in left hand . Carpal tunnel is formed by flexor retinaculum on the anterior side , while carpus posterior side . Median nerve and flexor tendons pass through it. I will try to explain ,what is syndrome . In carpal tunnel patient complaints of pain that is worse in the night & relieved by hanging the hand over the edge of bed, this is a feature of carpal tunnel syndrome ( clinically ) . In your case you are not having this syndrome. So consult a physician and get his opinion. Good luck.
