Does Hypoglycemia Cause Mental Confusion And Difficulty Expressing Oneself?

Hi. Today I experienced mental confusion and difficulty expressing myself. I had ideas in my head but could not put them into words. I think it is hypoglycemia related. I ate half of a granola bar and some nuts. It took more than half an hour to feel OK, but by then I had a mild headache which lasted for hours. (I felt the same way once about 9 months ago.) My doctor said I am pre-diabetic based on my A1C. Thoughts? Thank you.

Sure the prediabetics are prone to hypoglycemic attacks and the two symptoms you describe typically explain the scenario as does the fact that eating something relieved the symptoms.

Prediabetics and Diabetics are having Insulin resistance. That is why the pancreas produce more insulin because less is not working. Because of this higher than normal Insulin levels, which is the case at least initially in the course of the illness, they are prone to get hypoglycemic attacks.

The only way out is to avoid staying hungry especially if you are going through a physical or psychological stress.
Hope it helps.
