Does Excess Stomach Acid Cause High Blood Pressure?

Hi Doctor, My body has generated a habit of developing a high blood pressure whenever I have acidity. And More so while I am travelling somewhere. It is very irritating. My doctor has prescribed me Tryptomer and pentowork . But will I be prone to this increase in high blood pressure for ever whenever I get acidity because it is totally new and I am unable to handle it ?

Hi,

Certain studies have related gastritis and Gastro-esophageal reflux disease to high blood pressure and such changes where more observed at night time. Stress can also play a major role in causing both Gastritis and elevated blood pressure.

I would suggest you to continue with Pentowok. Monitor your blood pressure regularly and when the levels are always more than 140/90 mm Hg, anti-hypertensive drugs like calcium channel blockers should be started. Reducing stress by physical exercise, meditation / yoga and mind relaxation techniques will definitely help in reducing your symptoms.
